Inside Cover: Beltur, an Order mage, discovers he possesses frightening powers not seen for hundreds of years. With his new abilities, he survives the war in Elparta and saves the lives of all. However, victory comes with a price. His fellow mages now see him as a threat to be destroyed, and the local merchants want to exploit his power.
There’s only one way he can remain free and survive―he’s going to have to run.
Outcast of Order is the second story in this arc in the series (Saga of Recluce) . This takes right up where the last book The Mongrel Mage left off. Once again I was not disappointed and enjoyed reading this book. The main character Beltur pulls you in to the story. Keeps you drawn in. The masterful writing of Modesitt weaves the storywith highly-crafted magic that is the same thoughout all The Saga of Recluce.
Like most of L. E. Modesitt Jr.books you have a hard time setting down this book. I ended up reading the whole book in one night. The next book in this series is The Mage-Fire War. Cannot wait to get my hands on this book. ~~ Craig Dyer
