Warrior of Fate: The Truthseers
by Debra Mullins
Tor, $15.99, 300pp
Published: October 2015

I couldn’t wait to read this!  This is the finale in Debra Mullins’ series of the lost people of Atlantis. Of the modern-day descendants of the refugees from Atlantis, there are the Mendukati and the Seers.  These two groups have developed powers beyond those of mere humans.  They hate each other.  They are sworn enemies based on their own separate legends regarding the fall of Atlantis.  Darius and Faith from the previous novel return in this action/ fantasy romance novel.  But in this one, Tessa Montana and Adrian Gray take the lead and find out they are destined mates.

Adrian is an Atlantean warrior, living in the Montana home to protect them and the last ancient stone of power that they are guarding.   Working together and sharing their powers makes each of them stronger in the war between the people of Atlantis.  Unfortunately, the stone is coveted by more than just the Medukati.  Adrian and the Montana family find themselves fighting to steal back the stone from the warriors who had sworn to protect it.

In battle, Adrian learns that his mortal enemy, Mendukati warrior Azotay, is his brother.  Unable to kill his own brother, he is so badly wounded; it is nearly beyond his ability to heal himself.  The only thing that keeps him alive is his mate link to Tessa.  When it seems all is lost and the final stone is in the hands of the Medukati, the Seers and Warriors come together in heart and mind and soul and deliver the truth of how Atlantis ended.

Debra Mullins delivers an action-packed story about two people who find themselves bound by trust, family, and mutual attraction.   Add in the sexual tension between a nearly immortal (and extremely well-built) Adrian and the beautiful and innocent, yet powerful Seer Tessa Montana and we get an exciting and suspenseful adventure that I couldn’t put down! ~~ Marie Davis
