Blood Secrets
by Jeannie Holmes
Bantam, $7.99, 307 pp
Release Date: July 5, 2011
Blood Secrets is the second volume of the Alexandra Sabian series begun with Blood Law.

Alex allowed her last case to get personal; resulting in her suspension from the Federal Bureau of Preternatural Investigation. She now faces an official inquiry. Temporarily reinstated to hunt the Dollmaker, a serial killer; neither she or her lover Varik know that she is the real target. But the tribunal conducting her inquiry has its own agenda. Can she survive both?

This an excellent urban fantasy, filled with nonstop action, well-developed characters with a conflicted vampire heroine. While bringing a new picture of vampires, mixed with paranormal mystery and police procedural techniques, I am looking forward to the next one. There is something for everyone ...something good. If urban fantasy is your genre, you'll have to get this one. ~~ Pam Allan
